Khaled Zayed, President of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society in North Sinai, reported the commencement of aid trucks entering the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom crossing.
Zayed indicated that approximately 200 aid trucks, including 4 fuel trucks, are expected to reach Gaza today, Sunday.
Earlier, Egyptian security sources mentioned the potential entry of food and fuel shipments into southern Gaza through the same crossing, following an agreement between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and U.S. President Joe Biden.
This agreement was reached during a phone call between the two leaders, where they agreed to temporarily deliver aid to the United Nations via the Kerem Shalom crossing until a legal mechanism is established for reopening the Rafah crossing from the Palestinian side.
These developments follow intensive discussions aimed at alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and ensuring the delivery of essential aid to the residents of the Strip.
