Avigdor Lieberman, leader of the “Yisrael Beiteinu” party, stated that if the current coalition and Knesset continue until 2026, Israel will cease to exist. He severely criticized the current government’s handling of the war in the Gaza Strip and its failure to prevent the October 7 attack.
In an interview published by Maariv on Friday, Lieberman said that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has led Israel to destruction and does not know how to manage anything, according to his words.
The leader of the “Yisrael Beiteinu” party Avigdor Lieberman added that Netanyahu is now only seeking to ensure his stay in power for as long as possible.
He continued by saying that Israel is facing what he described as existential threats and is experiencing a multi-dimensional crisis political, economic, and security which is the largest since its establishment.
Lieberman also said that the entire political level in Israel is sick, pointing out that interest lobbies now have the upper hand.
He considered Netanyahu largely responsible for the “Black Saturday” attack (October 7) and accused him of strengthening Hamas over many years of his political career by releasing its leaders, including its late founder Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and its current leader in Gaza Yahya Sinwar, along with more than a thousand of its members in a previous exchange deal, and by the flow of funds to the group.
The “Yisrael Beiteinu” party leader believed that the October 7 attack would not have happened if the current government officials had thought “outside the box.”
Avigdor Lieberman had previously called for Netanyahu’s government to step down, saying that getting rid of its head would be a reward for Israelis.
