Senior Bahraini scholars expressed their gratitude for all efforts made during the Ashura season, particularly acknowledging the contributions of speakers, administrators, working committees, poets, and reciters.
In their statement on Sunday, July 7, 2024, they emphasized the importance of mourning Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), his family, and companions through wearing black, draping areas in black, and displaying Husayni banners. They stressed active participation from all societal segments in the season’s events.
The scholars highlighted the need for dedication in commemorating Ashura, each according to their capacity, using various means and resources. They underscored the importance of embodying Husayni ethics and morals, promoting unity and harmony.
They noted that Ashura is a season of steadfastness on God’s religion, emphasizing strict adherence to God’s laws. They called for the commemoration to reflect deep religious commitment, viewing it as a revival of Islam.
The scholars described Ashura as a time for all, including women inspired by Zaynab (peace be upon her), youth inspired by Ali al-Akbar and Qasim ibn al-Hasan, and children remembering child martyrs like Abdullah al-Radhi. They stressed using Ashura to build a righteous, Husayni-inspired generation.
They emphasized the importance of media in conveying Imam Husayn’s message clearly, using it to reinforce religious values and counter opposing narratives. They concluded that the season’s true value lies in advancing knowledge, awareness, and steadfastness in religion, bringing positive changes and reforms to the ummah.
