Detained human rights activist Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja issued a statement from “Jaw” Central Prison last Saturday, urging for a widespread movement by the Bahraini people to end normalization with Israel.
In his statement, Al-Khawaja emphasized that the current regime in Bahrain persists in its policy of security, economic, and political normalization with the Zionist entity, noting that this alliance is characterized by active participation in military coalitions led by the United States and Britain.
Al-Khawaja added that the Bahraini regime completely disregards popular objections and anger towards these policies, highlighting the necessity of organizing a peaceful and broad movement to express the Bahraini people’s rejection of this normalization.
He proposed that this movement should occur on a weekly basis, demanding an end to normalization with Israel and a cessation of participation in any military actions.
Al-Khawaja also expressed solidarity with the family of martyr Hussein Khalil Al-Ramram, calling for a fair and transparent investigation into his death, emphasizing that medical neglect in Bahraini prisons poses a threat to the lives of prisoners.
He concluded by expressing solidarity with the open sit-in of political prisoners, insisting on the necessity of holding accountable those responsible for the loss of lives without consequence.
