Hamas has announced its approval of the joint initiative between Egypt and Qatar to Ceasefire in Gaza, according to a statement issued by the movement’s media office.
The statement mentioned that Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas‘s political bureau, held telephone conversations with both the Qatari Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and the Egyptian Minister of Intelligence, Abbas Kamel, expressing the movement’s agreement to the proposal presented regarding achieving a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Hamas affirmed that it will send a delegation to Cairo tomorrow, Tuesday, to continue the discussions, as part of its efforts to reach a final agreement that ensures a comprehensive cessation of Israeli aggression, the withdrawal of occupation forces, the return of displaced persons, the provision of humanitarian aid, the commencement of reconstruction operations, in addition to negotiating a prisoner exchange deal.
In this context, Hamas expressed its readiness to work with a spirit of cooperation and sacrifice to achieve peace and stability in Palestine, emphasizing its commitment to end the Israeli blockade on the Strip and fulfill the demands of its people to live in dignity and security.
The statement concluded by affirming that Hamas and the Palestinian resistance forces are determined to work earnestly and resolutely to fulfill the demands of the people of Gaza to stop Israeli aggression, rebuild damaged areas, ensure a decent life for civilians, and reach a prisoner exchange deal that achieves justice and humanity.
