The family of Sheikh Mirza Al Mahrous, the Bahraini detainee, has witnessed a new wave of concern and tension after losing contact with him since last Saturday.
The director of the Bahrain Institute for Democracy and Human Rights (BIRD), human rights activist Sayed Ahmed Al-Wadaei, received a text message from the family expressing their deep concerns about the fate of Mirza Al Mahrous.
In statements to Al-Wadaei, the family confirmed that Al Mahrous had been transferred to the military hospital due to deterioration in his health condition, described as difficult, further alarming his family members who have been prevented from contacting him or visiting him.
It is worth noting that Mirza Al Mahrous’s family has renewed their demands for his release, reflecting the extent of concern and pressure they are facing amid his deteriorating health condition and lack of communication.
Demands have escalated for revealing Al Mahrous’s fate and providing him with the necessary medical care, in addition to calling for his immediate release and return to his family.
Amidst these developments, pressure is mounting on the Bahraini authorities to swiftly and transparently address the case of Sheikh Mirza Al Mahrous, ensuring his health safety and his right to justice and fairness, in accordance with international human rights standards and relevant international laws.
