Former Pentagon advisor in the Trump administration, Douglas Macgregor, affirmed that the United States will be forced to relinquish global dominance.
In an interview with the “Deep Dive” channel on YouTube, Macgregor said, “The United States needs to adopt a new approach to dealing with the rest of the world.”
He continued, “We need to make it absolutely clear that unless there is a direct attack on us or our vital strategic interests, which still need to be defined, we will not use military force.”
He added, “The whole world is tired of us because we use the U.S. armed forces with and without reason.”
According to him, Washington will have to abandon “global military dominance” due to a lack of funding.
Macgregor believes that the people making strategic decisions in the U.S. administration “do not grasp reality and live in a parallel world.”
He concluded by saying, “Washington still believes we are the same country as in 1991 and still thinks Russia is weak. We have lost control, and no one trusts us. This is what Russian President Vladimir Putin recently tried to convey.”
