Hezbollah attack
Yedioth Ahronoth reported that sirens wailed for an hour in northern Israel (in the settlements of Kiryat Shmona, Ma’ayan Baruch, Metula, Kfar Giladi, Margaliot, Beit Hillel, Kfar Yuval, Misgav Am, Manara, and Tel Hai) as more than 200 rockets and 20 drones were launched from southern Lebanon, causing numerous fires.
It is noted that this rocket attack is the largest and most intense since the assassination of Hezbollah commander Taleb Sami Abdullah, “Haj Abu Taleb,” on the 11th of last month.
The statements issued by Hezbollah indicate complex and simultaneous military operations involving attack drones and various types of missiles.
In response, the Israeli army announced strikes on sites in southern Lebanon in retaliation for Hezbollah’s rocket and drone attacks, noting that 160 rockets were launched from Lebanon in the last hour.
It explained that “following the activation of sirens in northern Israel, numerous shells and suspected aerial targets crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory. The Israeli army’s air defense system worked to intercept them and succeeded in intercepting many of the targets and shells.”
It pointed out that “as a result of the fall of drones and debris from the interception operations in the area, fires broke out in several areas in northern Israel. Israeli fire and rescue services are currently working to extinguish the fires.”
