Former Secretary General of the National Democratic Action Society “Waad,” Ibrahim Sharif, expressed his disappointment with the Bahraini government’s stance in supporting U.S. President Joe Biden’s initiative to achieve a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict. Sharif described the position of the Bahraini government as disheartening and not reflective of the right approach towards the situation.
Ibrahim Sharif elaborated that, in his view, the correct stance should be to unequivocally support the resistance movements fighting against the aggression and to condemn President Biden and his administration. He emphasized that Biden and his government are not neutral mediators working towards peace, but rather active partners in the aggression, providing political and possibly military support to the offending parties.
He further pointed out that the so-called peace initiative endorsed by Biden is widely recognized as an Israeli proposal, crafted to serve Israeli interests. According to Sharif, statements from Israeli leaders, including Prime Minister Netanyahu, reveal that their primary goal is to secure the release of Israeli prisoners. Following this, they intend to resume their brutal and aggressive actions against the resistance and the civilian population.
Ibrahim Sharif stressed the importance of understanding the true intentions behind such initiatives and the need for Arab and international communities to stand in solidarity with the resistance. He called for a broader condemnation of the aggressive policies and actions of the Israeli government and their allies, urging for a more just and supportive approach towards those fighting for their rights and sovereignty.
