The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s media received a statement from the Saudi Royal Court on Thursday, announcing that King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the monarch of the country, had entered King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah.
According to reports from the Saudi news agency, King Salman’s admission to King Faisal Hospital was for routine health examinations, which took several hours to ensure his well-being.
Details regarding the nature and results of these examinations remain of interest and undisclosed, with no additional information revealed about King Salman’s condition.
King Salman Enters Hospital Amid Media Blackout
At the same time, the media blackout has led some to question the government narrative on social media. This is because the Saudi monarch has not visited the hospital in two years, while his age requires regular check-ups every 6 months at his residence, not necessarily at the hospital, certainly not every two years.
It is worth mentioning that King Salman bin Abdulaziz assumed the throne of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2015 after serving as Crown Prince for two and a half years, and his hospitalization may be considered part of the regular healthcare he receives.
King Salman is currently 88 years old, and he previously entered the hospital in July 2022 for medical examinations, as well as undergoing surgery in 2020 to remove his spleen.
