The Palestinian Ministry of Education reported on Tuesday that 8,672 students have been killed and 14,583 injured in the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank since October 7.
In its statement, the Ministry clarified that the number of students killed in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war has reached more than 8,572, with 14,089 injured. In the West Bank, 100 students have been killed and 494 injured, in addition to 349 being arrested.
The Ministry indicated that 497 teachers and administrative staff have been killed and 3,402 injured in Gaza and the West Bank, with more than 109 arrested in the West Bank.
It also highlighted that 353 government schools, universities, university buildings, and 65 UNRWA schools have been bombed and damaged in the Gaza Strip, leading to 139 of them being severely damaged and 93 completely destroyed. In the West Bank, 57 schools have been raided and damaged. Additionally, 133 government schools in Gaza have been used as shelters.
The Ministry confirmed that 620,000 students in the Gaza Strip are still unable to attend their schools since the start of the war on October 7. Most students are suffering from psychological trauma and facing difficult health conditions.
