Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society leader, Sayyed Taher Al-Mousawi, harshly criticized the Bahraini regime for hosting the Israeli Chief of Staff and meeting with him alongside several Arab countries.
In a post on Platform X on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Taher Al-Mousawi stated, “We as Bahrainis disavow this disgraceful act, which contradicts our values, ethics, humanity, and honor.”
He added that as a Bahraini citizen, he asserts that this meeting of the Chiefs of Staff in our country, Bahrain, is a fully-fledged crime.
Taher Al-Mousawi highlighted the difficult stage that the Gaza Strip is going through, with ongoing crimes committed by the occupation army, and now their army chief comes to receive support and coordination in the lands of Arabism and Islam.
He emphasized the contradiction between the Bahraini government’s actions and the suffering of the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza, where Israeli military actions continue to inflict harm and destruction. Hosting the Israeli Chief of Staff, according to Al-Mousawi, is a betrayal of the Palestinian cause and the principles of solidarity and justice that Bahrainis hold dear.
Moreover, Taher Al-Mousawi called for an immediate reconsideration of such alliances and meetings, which, only serve to legitimize the ongoing oppression and undermine the struggle for Palestinian rights. He urged the Bahraini authorities to align their policies with the ethical and humanitarian standards that the citizens of Bahrain expect and deserve.
