American media outlets quoted a statement from Microsoft saying that earlier on Friday, an update by the global cybersecurity company Technical Glitch caused disruptions to several IT systems worldwide. The statement noted that active efforts are underway to fix the issue.
It is worth mentioning that CrowdStrike provides antivirus software for Microsoft and its Windows operating systems.
A recorded message on CrowdStrike’s technical support line mentioned that the company is aware of reports about malfunctions in Microsoft systems related to its Falcon Sensor software.
