“The American presidential candidate Cornel West describes the Islamic Resistance attack on Gaza (Operation Al-Aqsa) as a response to terrorism.
In an interview with the independent American presidential candidate Cornel West, West described the Islamic Resistance movement’s attack on settlements in the Gaza Strip on October 7, known as ‘Operation Al-Aqsa,’ as a response to terrorism. West, in partnership with Melina Abdullah, the vice presidential candidate, did not criticize Hamas as the majority of American politicians did, and refused to condemn the attack.
Responding to a question about whether he considered the attack a response to terrorism, Cornel West confirmed that he indeed viewed it as a reaction to the terrorism that had persisted against the Palestinian people for years.
As part of his election campaign, West called for a ceasefire in Gaza and criticized the American president’s support for the Israeli war on the sector.
On the other hand, Cornel West pointed out that Hamas is not responsible, considering the Israeli army to be the one practicing terrorism.
He called for an end to those actions, describing the actions of the Israeli army as reaching the level of genocide.
At the end of the interview, Cornel West expressed concern about the increasing pressure to condemn Hamas, pointing out that the priority should be to confront the roots of the conflict and the injustice suffered by the peoples, emphasizing the importance of starting these efforts by eliminating injustice and oppression.”
