Hezbollah forces targeted 5 different Israeli sites today, Saturday, resulting in direct casualties, in a fresh retaliation to the Israeli army’s shelling of some areas in southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese Hezbollah party announced in separate statements its targeting of Israeli sites, including the “Ruwaisat Al-Alam” site in the occupied hills of Kafr Shuba and another site in the town of “Even Menahem,” while the Israeli artillery shelled the surrounding area of several villages in southern Lebanon.
On the other hand, a Jazeera correspondent reported that sirens sounded in the area of Even Menahem in the western Galilee due to rockets launched from Lebanese territory towards an Israeli site in that area.
In another escalation, the Israeli air force carried out an airstrike on the town of Dahiyeh, and aircraft bombed a military building affiliated with the Lebanese Hezbollah party in the town of Ayta Ash Shab in southern Lebanon, while the Israeli army announced its shelling of Lebanese Hezbollah sites in the town of Kafr Kila.
These events come in the context of the escalation witnessed in the region since yesterday, Friday, after days of relative calm, where Lebanese and Israeli forces exchanged mutual shelling across the border, amid ongoing protests and solidarity demonstrations with Gaza in Palestine.
