“More than 72% of the victims of Israeli attacks in Gaza are women and children, with the confirmed number of victims currently exceeding 300 individuals from medical crews,” confirmed officials in Gaza.
Ismael Thawabteh, the director of the governmental media office in the sector, spoke to the press about the current situation in Gaza. Thawabteh pointed out that the health sector is experiencing severe deterioration due to ongoing Israeli attacks.
Thawabteh added that medical complexes in Gaza have suffered significant damage, with some being turned into investigation and torture centers, while others have been targeted and completely destroyed.
Furthermore, Thawabteh appealed to the international community to send field hospitals and urgent medical teams to Gaza to assist the victims of Israeli attacks, stressing the importance of opening the crossings to allow humanitarian aid to enter.
In a related context, Thawabteh emphasized that the Israeli blockade on Gaza exacerbates the suffering of the population, as all crossings have been closed and the infrastructure has been almost completely destroyed, worsening the humanitarian situation in the sector day by day.
Thawabteh concluded his statement by calling on the international community to intervene immediately to stop the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and find a rapid solution to restore life to normal in the sector.
