Saudi Defense Ministry: The Kingdom Has No Involvement in Al-Hudaydah Strike and Will Not Allow Airspace Breach

Saudi Defense Ministry spokesperson, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that the Kingdom has no involvement or participation in the strike on the Yemeni city of Al-Hudaydah. He added that “the Kingdom will not allow any breach of its airspace by any party.”

Earlier, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari announced that the Air Force conducted the “Long Arm” operation to strike targets belonging to the Houthi group “Ansar Allah” in Al-Hudaydah port in western Yemen, including oil facilities at the port and a power station in the province. This caused a massive fire that Yemeni firefighting teams are struggling to control.

These raids come after a drone attack early Friday morning on the city of Tel Aviv, claimed by the Houthis, which resulted in the death of an Israeli and the injury of 11 others.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented on the attacks carried out by the army against Yemen, stating that “Ansar Allah” has been attacking Israel since the beginning of the war and “we will defend ourselves in every way and on every front.”

In turn, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said that the fire burning in Yemen is “visible in the Middle East,” indicating it will serve as a “deterrent” to other fronts supporting Gaza.

On the other hand, the Houthis have vowed to respond to the bombing, asserting in statements that “response is inevitable,” that “Israel will pay the price,” and that escalation will be met with escalation.
