Israeli Reserve General Yitzhak Brik criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu policies, stating that the war on Gaza has lost its purpose and continues solely for Netanyahu’s benefit. He also warned against any decision to attack Hezbollah.
According to a Hebrew news site, Yitzhak Brik said, “The war in Gaza has lost its purpose and is continuing only for Netanyahu’s interest. We have reduced the army’s capability over 20 years to the point where it cannot defeat Hamas.”
He added, “What is happening in Rafah is a disgrace. We are not truly fighting Hamas; they are rigging the roads, and we are killing.”
Brik warned of a strategic defeat, saying, “We are facing a strategic defeat unlike any we have seen since the country’s founding.”
He also cautioned against any decision by Netanyahu to attack Hezbollah, stating that it would bring catastrophe to the state.
He added, “We cannot stop Hezbollah’s rockets and drones. What will happen in a regional war when not dozens but thousands of rockets and drones are launched at us every day? Those who walk around the northern settlements are astonished by what they see.”
