Princeton University students in the United States are on a hunger strike in solidarity with Columbia University students and the people of Gaza.

A group of Princeton University students in the United States embarked on a hunger strike today, Saturday, in solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people in Gaza and in protest against the suppression of Columbia University students.

In a statement issued by the “Solidarity Camp with Palestine” at Princeton University: “We are beginning a hunger strike as a symbol of our solidarity with the Palestinian residents of Gaza who are suffering under the continuous siege by Israel and enduring hardship and pain.”

The statement clarified that the decision to go on a hunger strike was in response to the US government’s refusal to meet the students’ demands to withdraw support for “Israel,” while UN reports indicate that Gaza is home to the largest population facing the tragedy of hunger.
