The Yemeni Armed Forces confirmed in a statement issued by the official spokesperson Yahya Saree, the targeting of a British ship (Rubymar) in the Gulf of Aden, and the downing of an American MQ9 Reaper drone in Hodeidah.
The Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a military operation last night, targeting the British ship Rubymar in the Gulf of Aden, using several appropriate naval missiles.
Yemeni Armed Forces spokesperson Yahya Saree said that the operation resulted in catastrophic damage to the ship, which is on the verge of sinking.
Saree confirmed that the operation was carried out in support of the oppressed Palestinian people who are being subjected to aggression and blockade, and in response to the American-British aggression against Yemen.
The Yemeni Armed Forces confirmed that as part of the operation, the safe evacuation of the ship’s crew was ensured, stressing that all workers arrived safely.
Targeting Rubymar ship and shooting down an American drone
The spokesperson of the Yemeni Armed Forces also confirmed that the Yemeni Air Defense successfully shot down an American MQ-9 Reaper drone in Hodeidah.
Yahya Saree said, “We shot down this American drone that was carrying out hostile missions against our country on behalf of the Zionist entity, using appropriate missiles.”
“The Yemeni Armed Forces will not hesitate to take more military measures and carry out more qualitative operations against all hostile targets, in defense of beloved Yemen and in confirmation of the position supporting the Palestinian people,” Saree stressed, adding “The operations of the Yemeni Armed Forces in the Red and Arabian Seas will not stop until the aggression stops and the siege on the Gaza Strip is lifted.”
It is worth noting that this is the third time that a high-tech drone has been shot down by the Axis of Resistance since October 7. The MQ-9 is capable of carrying multiple missiles and has reportedly been used in high-profile assassinations carried out by the United States in the region. The price of this aircraft is around 32 million US dollars.
The ability to shoot down this high-tech aircraft highlights the resistance’s ability to confront the most advanced militaries in the world, using available and limited resources.
