In a significant step towards achieving justice and rebuilding trust, Adel Almarzouq, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Unity Party, called for a comprehensive solution to the issue of political detainees, urging for their release.
Al-Marzouq’s call comes in the wake of deteriorating conditions inside Jaw Prison, where he expressed grave concern following the death of political detainee Hussein Khalil.
In his statements, Al-Marzouq clarified that the prisoners refused to participate in the current discussions, leading the prison administration to take harsh measures against them, including cutting off water supplies and depriving them of breakfast and pre-dawn meals, in addition to denying them access to necessary medications.
Adel Almarzouq concluded his appeal by emphasizing the urgent need for immediate intervention to protect the rights of detainees and to work towards finding a comprehensive and fair solution to this important issue.
