Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani stated that the Israeli war on Gaza has become a pivotal turning point in the history of the Middle East and the world. He noted that the international community remains unable to stop what he described as the brutal war in the region.

In his opening remarks at the GCC Ministerial Council meeting in Doha, he added that addressing the regional and international challenges related to the region requires intensified efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza.

He affirmed that since last October, Doha has been working with its regional and international partners to achieve a permanent ceasefire and resolve the crisis to prevent the opening of other fronts of conflict in the region. He also called for pressure to cease fire in Gaza, considering it a nucleus of tension and danger in the Red Sea.

It is noteworthy that Qatar, the United States, and Egypt have been mediating indirect talks for months between Hamas and Israel, aiming to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and a prisoner exchange deal between the two sides.
