The spokesman for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, Majid Al-Ansari, urged the international community to address each crime committed in Gaza separately, noting that Qatar will not take a preconceived stance towards the International Criminal Court’s decisions regarding the requests of the prosecutor.

Karim Khan, the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, announced on Monday his intention to issue arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Galant, along with three leaders of Hamas: Yahya Sinwar, the head of the movement’s political bureau in Gaza, Mohammed Deeb Ibrahim (Al-Daif), the commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades, and Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the movement’s political bureau.

Al-Ansari affirmed that Qatar is not a member of the International Criminal Court system or the Rome Statute, but it is committed to its role in the international community. He added that it is premature to comment on the prosecutor’s decision, but Qatar supports the principle of accountability in general.

Regarding the negotiations for a ceasefire, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry clarified that there is no update yet on the stalemate in Gaza negotiations, and Qatar will continue its mediation role between Israel and the Palestinians in Gaza, urging the international community to hold those responsible for targeting civilians accountable.

Al-Ansari emphasized that the Israeli escalation in Rafah is unacceptable and contributes directly to the expansion of violence, stating that the closure of the Rafah crossing exacerbates the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, emphasizing the necessity of opening land crossings for humanitarian aid trucks.

He also pointed out that the attacks by Israeli settlers on aid trucks heading to Gaza have shifted from individual acts to institutionalized ones, constituting “collective punishment for Palestinians.” He called on the international community to act to protect aid convoys.

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry addressed the Israeli attacks in the occupied West Bank, affirming clear violations of international law there, and calling for an end to these violations.
