The Yemeni Armed Forces announced that they targeted the British warship HMS Diamond in the Red Sea with several ballistic missiles in response to the injustice faced by the Palestinian people and in retaliation for the massacre at the Nuseirat refugee camp in the Gaza Strip yesterday.
In a statement issued on Sunday, June 9, 2024, they added that the naval forces, missile force, and drone force conducted two joint military operations against ships belonging to companies that violated the decision to ban access to the ports of occupied Palestine.
The statement continued, noting that one of the ships, the Norderney, was hit directly, causing a fire, while the other ship, the MSC Tavvishi, in the Arabian Sea, was also hit directly. The operations were carried out using several naval missiles, ballistic missiles, and drones.
The Armed Forces affirmed their continued commitment to fulfilling their religious, moral, and humanitarian duty towards the Palestinian people, stating that their operations will not cease until the aggression stops and the blockade on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip is lifted.
