UNRWA Announces Over 360,000 Displaced from Rafah in the Past 7 Days

Displacement operations in Gaza continued amidst escalating tensions and Israeli airstrikes, with approximately 360,000 people fleeing from the southern city of Rafah, according to an announcement by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) today.

UNRWA stated that military operations and evacuation orders in northern Gaza have heightened fear and displacement among families, emphasizing that there is no safe haven for everyone in the enclave.

Israeli forces had distributed leaflets urging residents to leave Rafah and seek safer areas in the central Gaza Strip in preparation for a limited military operation.

However, there is no longer any safe place in the enclave due to the barbaric Israeli attacks, as reported by the displaced.

These developments come amidst the closure of Gaza’s crossings, with Israel shutting down the Kerem abusalim commercial crossing and Rafah crossings remaining closed on the Egyptian border, exacerbating difficulties for affected residents in accessing essential aid and services.
