Tension in the North: Rockets from Lebanon Target Western Galilee, Israel Conducts Emergency Drills

In a rapid development of events, Israeli media announced in the early hours of the morning the fall of several rockets launched from Lebanese territories onto areas in the Western Galilee. This was followed by the sounding of alarm sirens in the targeted area, marking a new escalation of tension on Israel’s northern border.

According to reports from Israeli Channel 12, five rockets landed in open areas in the Western Galilee, accompanied by the sound of alarm sirens echoing in the region. Sources indicated that emergency drills are currently underway in Israel, involving the participation of the army, emergency medical services, police, and firefighting teams, amidst ongoing shelling and clashes across the Lebanese border.

In a related context, the Lebanese Hezbollah party claimed responsibility for an attack carried out on Israeli soldiers near the Lebanese border yesterday, resulting in the death and injury of several of them. Anadolu Agency reported a statement from the party saying that the attack was conducted after careful monitoring of Israeli army movements, targeting a gathering of soldiers east of the Hanita site in northern Israel.

The statement added that the attacks continued on Israeli military positions in occupied Lebanese territories, targeting sites such as Roisat al-Alam in the hills of Kafr Shuba and the Zboudin barracks with rocket weapons.

These events come amidst escalating tensions on Israel’s northern border, amid ongoing military operations in the Gaza Strip for months, which have resulted in casualties.
